The Wayzgoose Boys, 1889.

Circa. 1889. The Old Guv Men and Boys either arriving or getting ready to go home from their Annual Wayzgoose Outing which was held in the Adelaide Hills at Mount Barker in 1889.
It really is a wonderful picture, clearly the Apprentices are in one wagon and the men are in the other wagons.
The trend of the time was beards and hats for the men, although there are a  couple of  spoilsports who aren’t wearing hats. Cheeky Buggers.
How long it took to travel from Adelaide to Mount Barker by horse drawn wagon is anybody’s guess.
No mobile phones, just plain good old conversation and camraderie.
